Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much do you charge / What are your rates?

A: I charge a labor rate of $40 per hour - this does not include taxes, fees, or any physical products purchased.

Q: What taxes and fees do you charge?

A: I charge sales tax, a travel fee, and a convenience fee for credit card purchases.

  1.  Sales Tax: based on your location, and applies to any physical products purchased (labor is exempt). If you are unsure what sales tax you will pay, a quick web search for your city's sales tax rate will provide you with the current percentage.
  2. Travel Fee: based on the IRS 2018 Mileage Rates for Business Travel ($0.545 cents/mile). This fee is averaged out per day - the more clients I see on a given day, the less each of them pays. If I travel a total of 30 miles, and see 4 clients, each client will only pay $4.09 vs. $16.35 if I only have 1 appointment that day.
  3. Convenience Fee: in order to continue accepting credit and debit cards as a form of payment, I charge a 3% fee to help offset my costs for processing these transactions. You can avoid this fee by opting to pay with cash. I do not accept checks at this time.
