Get a bicycle. You will certainly not regret it, if you live.
— Mark Twain

History, not Hype.

The shop opened in the spring of 1968. We've been around through the bike boom of the 1970s, the mountain bike craze in the 1980s, the closure of Mare Island Naval Shipyard in the 1990s, the rise of Generation X & Y in the 2000s, and more recently, the economic troubles of the 2010s. We have been in the business of connecting people and bikes for over 47 years now; same city, same street, same building, same dedication to our customers. We want people to enjoy bike riding, no matter their skill, riding style, fitness level, or age.

Experts, not Elitists.

Bicycles are how we make a living. We see all manner of them, day in and day out. There are a lot of variations in modern bicycles; categories, sub-categories, different component groups and makers, etc. One of the valuable services we provide is advice. You tell us what you want to be do with your new bike, and we will advise you on the best options available for your riding style and budget.

Sincerity, not Snobbery.

We truly love what we do here at the shop; otherwise we wouldn't be doing it. Whether it's helping the young one pick out his or her very first two-wheeler; the college student looking for the right bike for campus use; the couple looking for something fun to do now that the kids are all grown up and out of the house; we do it from a love of bicycles, and our community.
